Safety

Safety Sign at Winchester Facilities

At O’Sullivan Films, safety is a lifestyle choice, not something only to be practiced at work. All employees are encouraged to take what they learn about safety from O’Sullivan and to apply it to all aspects of their lives everyday.

Before starting a position at O’Sullivan, new employees receive 40 hours of intensified classroom and practical training, including, but not limited to: Lock Out Tag Out, Forklift Safety, Fire Prevention and Nip Point Recognition. Employees are continuously trained and receive an average of 125 hours per year of additional training in safety and other subjects. Employees are not the only ones expected to exercise safety at work, so are all contractors hired to work on O’Sullivan site. All contractors are required to participate in pre-job safety briefings before any work may begin.

Each and every employee has the right and obligation to intervene in order to prevent an unsafe act or condition from occurring. O’Sullivan believes that personal accountability and responsibility is the path to ZERO reportable accidents or injuries. The results are evident with a company wide recordable rate ~ 2.8 times less than the industry standard, which in the past 12 years was reduced from an average of 55 recordable injuries to six per year.

O’Sullivan isn’t only worried about employee safety, but encourages community safety as well by participating in
Winchester’s Local Emergency Planning Committee.

O’Sullivan’s goal for safety is always set at ZERO and anything more is not acceptable.
